Hit by the fast-spreading Omicron variant, South Korea sees the number of its daily infections exceed 20,000. It's the first time since the country reported its first case two years ago. The Korea Centers for Disease Control says some 250 testing stations have been set up at public health centers and large hospitals. Starting today, hospitals and clinics will also hand out home testing kits. The health agency says the goal is to minimize critical cases and to prevent an overload of the medical system.
