Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday met with Polish President Andrzej Duda at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi called on both sides to tap the potential in such fields as trade and investment, transportation and logistics, and high and new technologies to lift bilateral cooperation to new heights.

Xi said China is inclined to engage in the construction of Poland's logistics hub, empowering Poland to play a key role in the supply chain between China and Europe.

China is also willing to expand the import of fresh produce from Poland and encourages Chinese companies to invest in Poland, according to Xi.

He said the two sides should enhance communication in education, culture, tourism, sports and cooperation among the youth.

Meanwhile, Duda said he is delighted to visit China, despite all the challenges, and enjoy the spectacular opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Xi invited Duda to attend the Winter Olympics five years ago.

The Polish president also thanked China for providing medical aid to help Poland fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Duda said Poland highly values its economic cooperation with China. The country expects to expand bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, including exporting fresh produce, facilitating investment from Chinese companies, construction of a logistics hub and new energy.
