Alexander Bolshunov, representing the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), won the gold medal in the men's cross-country skiing 15km+15km skiathlon at Beijing 2022 on Sunday with a time of one hour, 16 minutes and 9.8 seconds.

Bolshunov's team mate Denis Spitsov took the silver medal, with Finland's Iivo Niskanen coming in third to take the bronze.

It's Bolshunov's first-ever Olympic gold medal, also the first for the ROC at Beijing 2022.

Bolshunov had won three silvers and one bronze at the PyeongChang 2018 Games.
