Nine people were killed, including a child, after a van plowed into a crowd in Cagayan Province in the northern Philippines on Saturday night.
Local police said the van was traveling along the national highway in Barangay San Lorenzo when it allegedly lost control around 9 p.m.
The driver and his companion were both said to be army reservists.
