The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has begun work to explore crude oil reserves under Lake Albert in Uganda, marking another example of cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Chen Zhuobiao, the CEO of CNOOC's Uganda branch, said that the construction process and operation of the oil field will create more than 20,000 jobs in Uganda and boost training of local talent in the oil exploration sector.
