M5.0 quake strikes New Zealand's Kermadec Islands

A magnitude-5.0 quake struck New Zealand's Kermadec Islands at a depth of 10 kilometers, approximately 800-1,000 km northeast of the North Island and equidistant to the southwest of Tonga, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
