French President Emmanuel Macron has flown to Moscow for talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Ukraine. Macron will visit Kiev on Tuesday to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Before his trip, Macron discussed the Ukraine crisis with U.S. President Joe Biden over phone. The French president also made a series of phone calls with Putin, Zelensky and Western allies over the past week. Tensions remained high over the weekend after U.S. officials said Russia has assembled about 70 percent of the military capacities it needs for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Moscow calls the assessment "scaremongering."
