The Chinese mainland recorded 105 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 65 linked to local transmissions and 40 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

A total of 46 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 872 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 106,524 with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636 since January last year.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 15,026 (13,232 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 79 (79 recoveries)

Taiwan: 19,192 (13,742 recoveries, 851 deaths)
