Saudi air defenses have intercepted a drone targeting Abha International Airport, Al Arabiya reported on Thursday.

At least 12 people were injured and air traffic has been returned to normal, according to media reports. 

"We will take firm operational measures in response to the threat of targeting civilian airports and travelers," a coalition spokesperson said in a statement.
