China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has unveiled its plans for 2022. It comes as China looks to make more progress in space, including on the construction of its Space Station. Sun Ye has more.
China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is laying out a new year calendar full of milestones starting in a few weeks.
Chen Xiaofei, deputy chief designer of Long March-Eight Rocket, said a rocket launch in the coming weeks would deliver into space in one go a record number of twenty-two satellites. And in April, the taikonauts currently onboard the China Space Station will set a new six-month record for time in space.
SHAO LIMIN Deputy Technology Manager of Manned Spaceship System, China Academy of Space Technology "The Shenzhou-13 spaceship will see the taikonauts' set a record for the longest time in space. And later in the year, according to our plan, the Shenzhou-14 and Shenzhou-15 spaceships will dock with the space station at the same time. Both crews will be in the space station for a short period of time."
The manned space mission will see a record six launches this year and construction of the space station is entering an exciting new stage.
BAI LINHOU Deputy Chief Designer of Space Station System, China Academy of Space Technology "We will see the two lab modules dock with the core module, move, and complete the T-shape space-station as designed. When that is complete, we will run and test the completed space-station and make sure it enters the stage of full operation. There are six launches. And every single mission this year is crucial because each determines the next one."
This blue-paper has called China Space Development in a year 2021 "groundbreaking". But it also said in a year 2022 there was much more to look forward to and new records to be made. SY, CGTN, BJ.
