At least one person was killed and 15 others injured after an explosive device went off in front of a mosque in Qala-e-Naw city, capital of northwest Afghanistan's Badghis province.

Three children are among the wounded, local news channel Tolo reported, citing the head of Badghis' health department, Asif Qanat.

The blast on Friday afternoon occurred while worshipers were coming out of the mosque.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
