The first test run of China's AG600-1003 large amphibious aircraft was completed on February 8, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) said on Thursday.

The test run was taken in the order of No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 engines, the system was in good condition and the parameter indication appeared normal, the company reported.

Code-named Kunlong, the multi-purpose amphibious plane is a key piece of aeronautical equipment in China's emergency rescue system.

Developed by AVIC, the aircraft meets the needs of firefighting, marine rescue missions and other critical emergency rescue operations.

Assembly of the aircraft was completed on December 26, 2021, and tests of systems including avionics, power control, and hydraulic operation have since been completed. Inspections on the engine fuel system, hydraulic system and other related functions also took place before the test run.

After the AG600-1003, two more AG600 aircraft will complete the final assembly this year, China Media Group reported.
