A magnitude-5.5 earthquake jolted 47 km east of Wewak, Papua New Guinea on Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 3.5188 degrees south latitude and 144.0565 degrees east longitude.
