Confectionery plant fire in Japan kills 5

Five people were confirmed dead after a confectionery plant caught fire in Niigata Prefecture along the coast of the Sea of Japan late on Friday night, police said.
The plant had been operating with dozens of workers when the fire broke out.
It was put out on Saturday morning.
