Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi met with his South Korean counterpart Chung Eui-yong in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Saturday.

The two discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues, including the DPRK and a dispute over Japan's recent decision to push for the Sado island complex of heritage mines to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
