A magnitude-2.5 volcano-tectonic earthquake was recorded 2 kilometers east of the Taal volcano in Batangas Province on Luzon island, south of Manila on Sunday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

Later, a magnitude-5.4 tremor was also registered, 16 kilometers northwest of the Dalupiri Island, with a depth of 36 kilometers, said the institute.
