Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council, stressed on Saturday that the military is open to a national dialogue aimed at achieving democratic transition.
"The army is ready to conduct a dialogue regarding a transitional period if a consensus is reached," Al-Burhan said in an interview aired by Sudan TV.
Hassan Abdul-Salam Omer, general director of African affairs at the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, said the African Union (AU) voiced its support on Saturday for a political settlement to the current crisis.
An AU delegation arrived in Khartoum on Saturday to heed the concerns of all parties and help them to reach solutions.
