Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended a memorial event for victims of January events in Khazret Sultan Mosque on Sunday, presidential spokesperson Berik Uali posted on his Facebook page.

Tokayev said that the tragedy was difficult for the whole country, threatening its integrity, the security of citizens and the future of the country. Some citizens died in the riots. He added that he will not allow any acts undermining the peaceful and tranquil life of the people to happen again.
