Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a message of congratulations to Frank-Walter Steinmeier on his re-election as German president.

Noting that 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Germany relations.

"I am ready to work with you to enrich the China-Germany all-round strategic partnership and take the bilateral relations to a new level," Xi said in his congratulatory message to the German president.
