The Chinese mainland recorded 84 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 26 linked to local transmissions and 58 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

A total of 39 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 801 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 107,014 with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636 since January last year.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 17,046 (14,183 recoveries, 219 deaths)

Macao: 79 (79 recoveries)

Taiwan: 19,567 (13,742 recoveries, 851 deaths)
