Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he does not yet see any Russian troop withdrawal from positions near the Ukrainian border, BBC reported on Wednesday.

"To be honest we react to the reality we have and we don't see any withdrawal yet. We just heard about it," Zelensky told BBC at a military training ground in western Ukraine. He says he thinks "all normal people expect de-escalation."

The Russian Defense Ministry announced Tuesday that part of its armed forces participating in joint drills with Belarus will be pulled back from the border.

"As combat training measures are coming to a close, the troops, as is always the case, will conduct combined marches to their permanent garrisons," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said on Tuesday.
