Taiyuan Ancient County lit up on Tuesday night to celebrate the Lantern Festival in the capital city of north China's Shanxi Province. A variety of street folk shows were held, attracting many visitors, despite cold weather. Many of the traditional performances are part of China's intangible cultural heritage. There were also 150 series of colorful lanterns in various themes. Taiyuan Ancient County opened to public last year. It's built on the relics of old Taiyuan County, with a history of more than 600 years.
