00:47

Russia says military drills in Crimea have ended, and that troops were returning to their permanent base. State television broadcast footage showing military units crossing a bridge linking the Russia-controlled peninsula to the mainland. It comes a day after Moscow said it was pulling back some of the troops it had deployed near its neighbor's borders. Following talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed he did not want war over Ukraine amid Western fears it would invade the former Soviet republic. Western leaders remain unconvinced by Moscow's move, however. U.S. President Joe Biden said Russia could still launch an attack.
