Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov, in an interview broadcast on Wednesday with the German television channel WELT, denied that Russia has plans to invade Ukraine, according to Tass News Agency.

"I can assure you that there will be no attack this Wednesday, next week, or next week, or next month. There will be no escalation [of the situation on the border between Russia and Ukraine] either," the diplomat said.
