China on Thursday called on related parties of the Ukraine issue to remain rational, and stressed that the issue must be settled through the implementation of the Minsk II agreement. 

The Minsk II agreement, signed in 2015, is recognized by all as a fundamental and binding political document for the settlement of the Ukraine issue, and was endorsed by Security Council Resolution 2202. The package deserves complete and effective implementation by all parties concerned. 

Regrettably, most of the provisions have not been truly implemented, said Zhang Jun, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, at the Security Council. He stressed that China supports all efforts conducive to easing the tensions.
