China and Argentina are "comprehensive strategic partners," the highest level of diplomatic ties, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations. After a presidential meeting earlier this month, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative.
