According to Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the country's core consumer prices rose 0.2 percent year-on-year in January. CGTN talked to Sayuri Shirai, a professor of economics at the Faculty of Policy Management at Keio University, about the reasons behind the surge in Japan's core consumer prices. Shirai also shared her expectations regarding Japan's central bank's steps to cope with the high inflation.
