Environmental experts in China have said that Beijing has fulfilled its ecological commitments for the Winter Olympics and demonstrated the country's determination to pursue green development.

Wang Jinnan, president of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning, said China's environmental protection embraced a historic turning point and comprehensive leap, as the country is promoting the coordination between combating pollution and reducing carbon emission to form a synergy, and it has achieved a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. The idea is to improve from quantitative to qualitative in terms of environmental quality.
