The OSCE special monitoring mission (SMM) in Ukraine noted a sharp increase in the intensity of hostilities along the line of contact in eastern Ukraine and called for unhindered access to clarify all reports of shelling, it said in the statement on Friday.

The mission is "determined to assist the parties in ensuring their compliance with their ceasefire commitments and other measures provided for in the Minsk Agreements," said the statement.
