Regional leaders in Donbas claimed early on Sunday that the Ukrainian army continues to fire towards their area, including with heavy weapons, escalating tensions along the contact line since Thursday morning.

Villages on the outskirts of Donetsk have reported being under fire, and elsewhere, rebels in the Luhansk region have asserted that Ukraine has fired 49 times within the past day, damaging several civilian infrastructure facilities during shelling that was the most intense in recent months.
