A tawny owl and an eastern grass owl were returned to the wild on February 19 after being found in a weak state in a forest by a policeman on his way to work in Poyang Lake County in east China's Jiangxi Province. After careful checks by staff from the Wildlife Conservation Station, no obvious injuries were found. The owls were most likely exhausted as a result of a recent downpour. After a day of resting, they were freed.
