The Ukrainian military on Monday dismissed Russian media reports of a foiled border raid into Russia, saying their forces are not present in the Russian region of Rostov, according to Reuters.

The denial came shortly after several Russian media reports that Russian soldiers and border guards had prevented an illegal border crossing by a sabotage and reconnaissance group from Ukraine and killed five people who tried to breach the border.

According to the report, the Russian military also destroyed two Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles.
