Here at CGTN, we spoke to a number of people in different industries as they share their perspectives on China-U.S. relations since Mr. Nixon's visit back in 1972. Take a listen.
ZHENG YI Chairman, AmCham Shanghai "As far as cooperation there are many, because our companies have been here for over 40 years, and there are many U.S. invested enterprises in China. For us, we'd like to continue that despite the bilateral trade tensions, we'd like to see more cooperation in terms of trade both in commodity and services, and also in direct investment. Cooperation has implications not only for the U.S.-China bilateral commercial relationship, but also for the world, because China is a so-called factory floor for the world. And the other thing is that many of our companies now view China as an innovation center, and they actually set up R&D centers in China to develop innovated products, not only for the China market, but for the world also."
