Japan will ban visas and freeze assets for Russian officials associated with the two pro-Moscow regions in eastern Ukraine and also ban trade with those areas. It will also prohibit the issuance of Russian bonds in Japan. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Moscow has violated Ukraine's sovereignty and international law.
