Two electricity company workers captured videos of a wild Siberian leopard lurking by the side of a road during their daily patrol in Huichun City, northeast China's Jilin Province on February 22.

After staring at the car for a while, the animal disappeared into the forest. A large area of the city overlaps the Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park. With better wildlife protection under the national park system, encounters with wild animals have become increasingly common.

A couple of locals shared their experiences of coming across the Siberian tigers last year. It is indeed rare to see a Siberian leopard at close range.
