Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed on Thursday that he has sought a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but has yet to receive a response.

The Ukrainian government is ready to speak with Russia in different formats, Zelenskyy said in a televised address, stressing that the main goal is peace in Ukraine and the safety of the Ukrainian citizens.
