Ukraine is ready to start talks with Russia and called for the need of security guarantees, Russian media reported on Friday, citing an adviser of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Ukraine had been leaving room for negotiations that should end the ongoing fighting, according to the report. 

"The goal of Russia's 'invasion' was to remove Zelenskyy, who will remain in Kyiv," the report said, adding that Ukrainian airspace and ports have been closed.
