The Russian army has targeted Ukraine's military infrastructure with cruise missiles from the air and sea, the Russian defense ministry said on Saturday.
"During the night, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a strike with long-range precision weapons using air- and sea-launched cruise missiles against the military infrastructure of Ukraine," Russia's defense ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated in televised remarks.
He added that the Russian army only targeted military infrastructure without damaging "residential and social infrastructure."
The Russian ministry also said its troops do not inflict strikes on cities and towns and they take all measures to avoid civilian casualties.
But the Ukrainian side posted pictures on Saturday of a damaged high-rise building and claimed it was hit by a Russian missile.
A Ukrainian official later said no one was killed as a result of the strike on the building.
Anton Herashchenko, an advisor to Ukraine's interior minister, also accused Russia of lying about not shelling civilian infrastructure. He said at least 40 such sites had been hit.
