In the Ukrainian capital, local media are reporting heavy machine-gun fire in various parts of the city. Meanwhile, the Chinese foreign minister discussed China's bilateral ties with his European counterparts. 

Speaking with Emmanuel Bonne, French president's diplomatic counselor, the two sides exchanged views on Ukraine. Wang said the most urgent task is to get Russia and Ukraine back to the negotiating table to end the conflict.
