The Russian Ministry of Defense on Sunday said that its armed forces have "completely blocked" the southern Ukrainian cities of Kherson and Berdyansk and taken over the towns of Henichesk and an airport near Kherson, RIA reported.

The Russian forces have so far hit 975 objects of Ukrainian military infrastructure, said the ministry.

The 302nd anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine voluntarily laid down its arms and surrendered, the ministry also claimed, adding that a total of 471 servicemen are treated with respect and assistance and will be sent to their families once the paperwork is completed.
