Russian tourists remaining in European countries, which have closed their airspace for Russian aircraft, will be transported back to Russia via third countries, including Turkey (Istanbul), UAE (Dubai) and Egypt (Cairo), RIA News Agency reported on Monday, citing Dmitry Gorin, vice president of the Association of Russian Tour Operators.

The EU on Sunday announced shutting down the EU airspace for Russian-owned, Russian-registered or Russian-controlled aircraft, among others measures, in the wake of the military operation in Ukraine.

In retaliation, Russian flagship carrier Aeroflot said it is also suspending flights to Europe until further notice.
