The imposition of sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin is short-sighted and absurd in terms of solving problems, the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

Putin will hold a meeting on economy with the participation of government representatives, Peskov told reporters.

Russia will also retaliate against sanctions targeting Russia's aviation industry, he said.
