The U.S. nuclear weapons in Europe are unacceptable for Russia and it's time to return them home, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the Geneva-based Conference on Disarmament on Tuesday.

In a pre-recorded address, Lavrov said Kyiv has been seeking to acquire nuclear weapons and called it a real danger that needs to be prevented.

He also hit on the trilateral partnership between Australia, the UK and the U.S. (AUKUS), saying it provokes tension and forms the prerequisites for a new round of arms race.
