Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a Geneva disarmament meeting on Tuesday that Kyiv has been seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. Addressing the UN Human Rights Council, he called it a real danger that Russia needs to prevent. Lavrov also said it's unacceptable that some EU countries are still hosting U.S. nuclear weapons. He said these weapons should be returned to U.S. territory.

On the talks in Belarus between Russian and Ukrainian delegations, Lavrov said Kyiv should realize the seriousness of the situation and its responsibility. Ukraine's foreign minister has accused Russia of war crimes for its attack on his country.
