Rescuers have been trying their hardest to rescue the 14 missing miners trapped in a coal mine in Zhenfeng County, southwest China's Guizhou Province, since the coal mine roof collapsed on Friday morning. The rescue efforts have made some important gains, but officials say it will still take a considerable effort to reach the missing, as breaking up the extremely compact rubble poses a great challenge. As of 4 p.m. on March 1, the rescue tunnel has been extended forward by about 37 meters.
