When was the last time you put on your roller skates? Maybe now is the time to dig them out of the box as the activity seems to have seen a revival in many parts of the world. Invented in the 1700s, roller skating has always been more than just a passing craze as it was often linked to social movements. During its heyday, it was also popular among people who enjoyed skate-dancing to ABBA tunes in bell-bottomed pants or bright polyester leggings.
