The Chinese mainland recorded 294 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with 61 linked to local transmissions and 233 from overseas, according to data from the National Health Commission.

A total of 150 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 1,387 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 110,258 with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636 since January last year.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 138,145 (20,649 recoveries, 1366 deaths)

Macao: 82 (79 recoveries)

Taiwan: 20,653 (13,742 recoveries, 853 deaths)
