At least 11 people died in the eastern Indian state of Bihar after a massive explosion at a house where firecrackers were being made illegally, AFP reported citing local officials.

The blast that took place on Thursday night also destroyed four adjoining houses, and the sound was heard 15 kilometers away, said the local magistrate of Bhagalpur district in Bihar.
