Liu Zixu won the first gold medal for Team China at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games on Saturday, in the Para biathlon men's sprint sitting on Saturday, in a time of 18 minutes and 51.5 seconds.

Earlier on Saturday, Zhu Daqing won the first medal, a silver, for Team China by finishing second in the para alpine skiing women's downhill vision impaired. Henrieta Farkasova of Slovakia clinched the first gold medal of the Winter Paralympics in the event, in one minute and 19.50 seconds, followed by Zhu in 1:21.75.
