"Republican Senator Rick Scott [of Florida], who did not rule out the entry of U.S. troops into Ukraine, essentially called for a direct clash between major nuclear powers," Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said, answering media questions regarding the legislator's statements.

"The anti-Russian rhetoric in the United States has reached the point of absurdity. The slogans heard in Washington are becoming more irresponsible, provocative and extremely risky for international security," Antonov said.
